My Homies: Best friends for Life

My Homies

Friendship is one of the most valuable things in life, and I am lucky to have my homies who have been with me for over 11 years. There are 7 of us in total, but one of our brothers, Swostik, went to the USA. We still remember him by his nickname, Bhamay. Each of us has our unique quirks, and that’s what makes our bond so special.

Let me introduce my gang. There’s Salin Basnet, who we call Fatass (and he wears that name proudly). Then there’s Umang Aryal, aka bahaun, the guy who can crack you up no matter what mood you’re in. Aditya, who we call Aaitay, has his own drunk vibe that’s just impossible to copy. Ishan, or bsdk, is our cool-headed one, and is more practical in thinking. Finally, there’s Pratik, who we lovingly call Dhantay, who went miss For almost 3 years from our group. Each of them brings something different to the table, and together, we are unstoppable.

It all started back in 6th class, when I met them through Salin during one of those epic football games. We didn’t know then that those games would kickstart a brotherhood that would last over a decade. Since then, life has been a rollercoaster of laughter, trouble, and unforgettable memories.

Some of the best memories we have made are the nights when we had the house to ourselves. Late-night parties were our thing. We would eat mad honey, pushing the limits just to see who could handle it best (spoiler: none of us ever did it right and one fell down in the toilet and slept there for 4min unknowingly). And then there were the times we’d sneak bottles of whatever we could get, drinking in the middle of the night while mom and dad were sleeping downstairs on the second floor.

It wasn’t just about the fun. These nights brought us closer. We would share everything our jokes, our problems, and our happiest moments, making fun of each other. Even when the morning came with a mess to clean and pounding headaches, none of us regretted a thing.

What I love most about my gang is that no matter how much time passes or how far life takes us, we always find our way back to each other. Life might change, and we all might go our separate ways someday, but the bond we share is unshakable.
