My Time at IIMS College: The Good and the Bad

When I joined the Institute of International Management Science (IIMS) in Kathmandu, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It’s right in the busy city (Dhobidhara). Now that I’ve been here a while, I know what I like and what I don’t. Here’s my story about life at IIMS the fun parts and the tough ones.

The Good Parts: What I Like

The teachers here are really nice. They don’t just teach they talk to you, help you, and make classes feel easy. If I don’t understand something, I can ask without feeling shy.

The student union is great too. They bring us together, plan cool stuff, and help when we need it. And speaking of cool stuff, IIMS loves festivals! For Dashain, Tihar, or Holi, there’s always a big event with music, food, and games. It’s so much fun. I also like the socialization classes. They’re about people and how the world works. The lessons make me think a lot, and I enjoy that.

The Bad Parts: What’s Hard

But not everything is perfect. Parking is a big problem. It’s far from the college, and walking through the busy streets with my stuff is annoying, especially if I’m late.
Water is another issue. Sometimes there’s none, and I can’t even get a drink. The air conditioning doesn’t work well either. When it’s hot, the rooms feel sticky, and it’s hard to focus.

Electricity goes off a lot too. When it happens, classes stop, and I can’t finish my course. The internet is bad, slow or gone when I need it for classwork or to see slides. It’s 2025, but it doesn’t feel like it here. And the management, It’s not good. They mix up schedules or take forever to fix things. It makes me frustrated sometimes.
